5/19/2011 - Regular Server Maintenance Schedule

We will update Windows security patches and reboot all shared servers at the second weekend every month. It will have around 5 - 10 minutes down time for each server.

7/11/2009 - Helm 3 Server Cluster Moved!

We've moved Helm 3 Control Panel, SmarterMail 3, SmarterStats, NS1 and NS2 to the new servers due to data center re-location. Here are the major IP changes.

SmarterMail 3: 64.92.164.83 => 198.64.249.152
SmarterStats: 72.232.43.188 => 198.64.249.153
Helm: 72.232.43.187 => 198.64.249.154
NS1: 64.92.164.86 => 198.64.249.155
NS2: 72.36.179.28 => 65.99.254.138

We've updated all DNS records and your domains should be pointed to the new servers. Here are several things that you need to check.

1) If you have private name servers with us, please go to your domain registrar and change the name server IPs.
ns1.yourdomain.com: 64.92.164.86 => 198.64.249.155
ns2.yourdomain.com: 72.36.179.28 => 65.99.254.138

2) If you use outside DNS servers (not us), you need to change the DNS records in your DNS servers.

3) Please always use mail.yourdomain.com to as SMTP and POP3 server or access webmail. Please change the new IP if you use the old IP in Outlook.
SmarterMail 3: 64.92.164.83 => 198.64.249.152

4) Please always use local SMTP server 127.0.0.1 to send out emails in ASP.NET/ASP codes.

5) Your domains or databases may be moved as well. Please login to the new Helm control panel to check the new IPs.

7/17/2008 - Dallas Data Center Power Outage - July 17, 2008 20:30 CDT (-5GMT)

Where : Dallas Data Center (Helm 3) When : July 17, 2008 @ 20:30 CDT (-5GMT) What : Savvis is reporting a PDU failure at our Dallas data center. Their technicians are currently working to get this issue resolved and we will be updating as soon as we have more information from Savvis. No ETA at this time for resolution. The affected servers are IIS003 (72.232.4.26) and SQL004 (72.232.1.162).

7/8/2008 - Servers 65.99.254.* Maintenance

Our data center will replace the UPS for the servers 65.99.254.*. Maintenance has been scheduled for 8th July 08, between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM CST. Our servers will be moved to a circuits during this time frame to the new UPS. Downtime is expected to be minimal and should be no longer than an estimated 30 minutes.

7/6/2008 - New Servers SQL1003 and IIS1003

We've added two new servers SQL1003 and IIS1003 to Helm 4 server cluster. SQL1003 (198.64.249.30) is an SQL 2005 zserver and IIS1003 (198.64.249.23) is an IIS web server. You can find the server specification at Server Status.

7/5/2008 - Server SQL1001 (198.64.249.26) Maintenance

We will take down SQL 2000 server SQL1001 to do the regular maintenance. The down time will be around 15 ~ 30 minutes.

4/29/2008 - Houston Data Center Core Router Upgrade

Time: Wednesday 5/7/2008 11:00 PM ~ Thursday 5/8/2008 5:00AM CST Duration: 6 Hours Details: We will be doing an upgrade to our core router. The down time will be less than one hour. This upgrade will affect our Helm 4 server cluster.

3/23/2008 - SmarterMail 4 CP1001 Crashed

In 3/22/2008 Friday, One of our customers created a domain and deleted it in Helm 4. It left a empty domain in SmarterMail 4 due to a bug of Helm 4. Our SmarterMail 4 was crashed because of an empty domain. We've restored some email accounts from our remote data center backup servers. Everything should be back to normal now. This will result in latency for all Helm 4 servers during the 3 hour maintenance window with 15-30 minutes of inaccessibility.

10/8/2007 - Server CP002 Hardware Upgrade

We will add remote reboot device to the server CP002 (72.232.43.186) at Monday, October 8, 2007. The upgrade will be performed between 7:00 am and 4:00 pm CDT. While the upgrade is performed, each server will be down for between five (5) and fifteen (15) minutes. Helm 3.x Control Panel, SmarterStats and some customers' web sites will be down at that time.

8/25/2007 - 8/25/2007 Network Problem

We experienced network issues upstream from our Savvis IDC from 8/25/2007 12:30AM ~ 8:30AM CST. Savvis was performing un-scheduled maintainence on a backbone devices which has caused a peering issue and sever or 100% packet loss for some of our servers on the Savvis network.

4/6/2007 - 4/6/2007 Network Maintenance

Our data center scheduled the following time frame to maintain the network. Start time: 4/6/07 3:00AM CST End time: 4/6/07 7:00AM CST Expected Outage/Downtime: 2 hours The purpose of this work is installing new equipment at our location from our upstream. During this maintenance window, you will experience one or more brief interruptions in service while we complete the maintenance activities; the interruptions are expected to last less than 2 hours total. However, due to the complexity of the work, your downtime may be longer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

3/12/2007 - 3/14/2007: IIS001 will be offline from 15 minutes and up to 1 hour

Our data center will upgrade the network infrastructure at Wednesday 3/14/2007. IIS001 will be offline from 15 minutes and up to 1 hour. This is an SQL Server 2000 server. The IP is 72.36.179.27. Lots of web sites will be done if you have the database in this server. The Helm control panel will be down as well. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any questions.

12/1/2006 - SmarterMail 3.3.2439 Upgrade

We've upgraded our SmarterMail eamil server from 3.3.2369 to 3.3.2439. Here are the release notes. EFFICIENCY: Improved the efficiency when a user has numerous calendar events. FIXED: Fixed a bug when removing Email Harvesting blocks from the Current Blocks report. FIXED: Mailing list messages did not have the authenticated user information passed to them from the originating message. This would cause those messages going to local users to still be checked for spam. FIXED: Restricting bounces and auto responders to passed or existing SPF checks did not work correctly. FIXED: Sending an email with an attachment to a list with a boundary containing a space was not processed correctly. FIXED: Some paging controls could sporadically show in a different language than the users language. FIXED: Some settings in mailConfig may not get loaded when archive rules have been added. FIXED: When forwarding a message with attachments, only the top level of mime parts were checked for attachments. FIXED: When querying for statistics for a range of dates, if a stat files doesn't exist for the final month, the previous month would get added twice.

10/12/2006 - Hardware Upgrade and Windows Security Patches

We will add more memory and backup hard disk to the server SQL002 and IIS007 from 10/13/2006 Friday 11:00PM to 12:00PM CST. The down time should be less than 10 minutes for each server. We will also install Windows security patches and reboot all servers at that time frame.

9/8/2006 - Emergency Network Maintenance Window September 8th 2006 22:00 CST - Sept 9 2006 02:00

After thorough investigation of all our data center existing network devices, configurations entries and IOS software versions Cisco Systems has asked that replicate the error that affected our data center location. Replicating this error on site will allow Cisco engineers and our network team to find the true cause of the problems we experienced several weeks ago. In order to accomplish this there will be possible network related issues during the maintenance window. The server IIS005 and IIS006 will possibly experience packet loss, increased latency or temporary interruption of service. There will be a team of Cisco Engineers on site running active diagnostics during this reproduction. These results will be analyzed for source causes and devices may be replaced if they are found faulty. There is a full rollback plan in place to ensure that this maintenance window does not exceed the time frame listed.
